John Marshall High
School, as we knew it, is no more.

A lone classroom wall
with blackboard stands in defiance
of the wrecking ball.
Note the familiar telephone on the
wall to the right of the doorway.

The
Final Blow to our Alma Mater
The Final
Open House was May 12th, 2012!
The last and final open house at
the current John Marshall High School
marked the end of an era. Our school
will be no more except for the name
and the ground it stands on. This last
last chance to say goodbye was well
attended similar to the 2011 event.
Most of the historical artifacts have
already been removed and are in safe
storage. We are doing all we can to
preserve what we can. If you missed
this open house or just want to
re-live the experience, a DVD has been
prepared for that purpose. It contains
video footage of key locations in the
school including the underground
track. Ralph Pfingsten, alumnus,
teacher, historian and author is
featured in a clip that talks about
Marshall's history from 1899 to the
present with insight from his
knowledge and research on the subject.

Demolition is
set for the Fall of 2012. The new
school will open Fall, 2015.
The First
Open House
The
First Open House was a huge
success thanks to all the hard
work by the Volunteers, Students,
Faculty and Staff. There were
likely a few thousand that toured
their alma mater. We sold out of
our commemoritive T-Shirts and
other JMH souveniers. Ralph
Pfingsten gave several
presentations about the History of
John Marshall in the auditorium.
The new school will NOT have an
auditorium because the State of
Ohio will not fund rooms that are
not in contiuous use throughout
the school day. We just report,
you can decide.
