Music
has always played a big role at Marshall. Band and Choir participation
provide an opportunity for students to get involved in the
Arts and to meet students from other classes. Thanks to Mr.
Rick Parschen, the current band director, and Mr. Fortney,
choir director, John Marshall continues the tradition.
Our
John Marshall Band was invited to perform at Half-time at
the Cleveland Force Soccer game at the CSU Convocation Center
on Friday, January 23d, 2004. It was a snowy winter night
in Cleveland, but the Band was there to do the performance.
Listen and watch the halftime performance and view some candid
shots of the everyone having a little fun. It's all part of
the high school experience!

Marshall's
Christmas Band Concert was on Tuesday, December 16th. Those
that were there experienced first hand what practice and dedication
are all about. Our band sounds great. If you weren't there
for the concert, you can hear and see what it was like right
here on our website. We have video of four of the numbers
that were included in the hour plus performance. You must
have RealPlayer or Windows Media Player installed on your
computer. Real Player is available free at real.com.
Windows Media Player is also free at microsoft.com. If
you have a DSL or Cable Modem, you can enlarge the window
for a better look.

Music
is an important part of the John Marshall Culture, especially
during the Christmas season. We recently obtained a 45 RPM
record of the 1956 Choir directed by Helen Nepp. We believe
that this is the very first record ever made of the Marshall
Choir and we were excited to have it for our collection. It
was donated by Ken Tischler, class of 1956. Although records
detiorate over the years, technology allows us to remove some
of the scratches and enhance the sound. This has been done
and the result is here for you to hear in Windows Streaming
Media. The Choir performs Silent Night, Gesu Bambino, O Holy
Night, Carol of the Bells and You'll Never Walk Alone. Enjoy!
